The Media Council of PNG (MCPNG), along with Transparency International PNG (TIPNG) received a resounding endorsement from members of the Community Coalition Against Corruption (CCAC) to continue as the group's Co-Chairs as the group refocuses on combatting and spotlighting major corruption issues in the country.

The unanimous endorsement was given at the first National Meeting of the CCAC, held in Lae on April 24th.

The CCAC is a loose coalition of civil society, churches, media, trade unions and industry groups that come together to coordinate on issues of national concern.

The CCAC one day meeting in Lae was co-hosted by the CCAC and the Lae Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with funding support from the UNDP PNG Anti-Corruption Project, and the Media Development Initiative. It was attended by over 90 participants representing 46 organizations which included the media, churches, business houses, trade unions, and youth and womens groups.

The MCPNG was represented by its Executives, and several Editor Representatives.
