NBC National Press Club deferred

The NBC National Press Club featuring Oil Search CEO Peter Botten has been deferred until after the conclusion of the 2017 General Election.

The event was scheduled for Monday July 17 but the Media Council of PNG and its partners decided to defer the event until after the writs for the general election are returned and the conclusion of the electoral process.

The deferral will enable the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to focus on providing coverage on the general election as the official broadcaster. 

The public will be advised of the new date for the event after the council meets with its partners. The NBC National Press Club - Speaker Series is broadcast on NBC national radio and is delayed telecast on NBC Television. There is a training component to the event, which is done for Papua New Guinean journalists to prepare them for the event. The training component has also been deferred.

The NBC National Press Club is a partnership between the NBC, Media Council of PNG and Lamana Hotel Ltd.
